So pleased with H40 model. It’s good value & only takes 4 AA batteries which last really well. Can now see our wood mice & hedgehog doing their rounds at night!!
Our first trail / wildlife cam and already giving us lots of pleasure to see that we get foxes and badgers into our garden. Clear pictures and esy set up makes this perfect for old timers like us.
This is my first wildlife camera so I can not compare to others but I can say that it does everything that I wanted it for which was to film my garden wildlife, mainly hedgehogs, mice, birds and our cat. I found it easy to set up (and I'm getting old now) and use, the picture quality for both Night time and Day time was very good with the only exception being the 30 mins when night changes to day when the picture wasn't quite so good. This camera takes less batteries than most that I looked at and so far after 2 weeks of use I haven't had to change them. It was also one of the cheapest named brands that I found. My only constructive critisism would be that it would have been better if I could have connected the camera directly to my PC or TV with a usb cable instead of having to remove the micro sd card to copy it on to my PC hard drive but I guess this might have increased to cost ??
I bought the Apeman H40 over other branded or non branded as I already have an Apeman dashcam which is really good. I had high expectations from Apeman for this product. Build quality is good and battery life is excellent ( I didnt want a model with 8 AAbatteries) but it is let down by the slow response time to start recording from detection. It seems to miss about the first 3 - 5 seconds of activity or the PIR angle is not wide enough sometimes this is enough to totally miss the subject leaving a motionless video. Also, I think the quality of video could be better even though I have it set to 1080p it just seems not too sharp even when recording in good daylight. I guess for £40 its ok and built to a tight budget so maybe my expectations were set too high. The biggest problem regardless of price or build quality is the slowness of starting the recording. Maybe this is normal for this type of camera as I have nothing to compare it with. Overall, I am not too dis-satisfied with the H40 for the £40 I guess, so its not a bad product just could be a little better in one key function.
Does what it says on the package
